Japan's space agency JAXA on Tuesday launched a rocket carrying a Canadian communications satellite. It's the first time Japan has sent a commercial satellite into space. Japanese media say the satellite will boost telecommunications over the Mediterranean, the North Sea, the Caribbean, and the South Atlantic.
