Thailand dished up a five-star buffet to monkeys in central Lopburi province on Sunday at the annual monkey festival. Around two tons of fruit, vegetables, jellies and soda worth 11,145 US dollars were given out to thousands of macaques on the street and inside a temple complex. The festival was started in 1989 as a way to boost tourism in the province, which is home to a 10th century temple.
