Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree imposing economic sanctions against Turkey amid claims that it shot down a Russian warplane. Entering into force immediately, the presidential decree said there will be a ban on charter flights from Russia to Turkey. Starting January 1, 2016, Russia is also suspending its visa-free travel to Turkish citizens except Turkish diplomats and their dependents and those with temporary permits of residence.
