UN: 1,792 killed in Iraq conflict in October
Nearly 1,800 Iraqis were killed and over 1,300 injured in October, as a result of the armed conflict in the country, according to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq. The death toll included 1,100 civilians. Numbers for Iraq's western province of Anbar were unavailable due to an ongoing military operation. UN officials say civilian casualties are on the rise as ISIL continues to use them as human shields.
