The US-led coalition fighting the Islamic State in Syria denied it targeted and killed Syrian government troops. Reports Sunday said the coalition killed at least three Syrian soldiers in the Ayash area in the eastern province of Deir al-Zor. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitor group, also reported the strikes, saying four of the troops had been killed and 13 wounded.
