Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe may serve a further three years in office after his party extended the maximum term limit for the party president. The ruling Liberal Democratic Party decided to revise rules to extend the maximum tenure of the president from two terms to three. The shift is expected to be approved at the LDP’s annual convention next March.
